Concert Marimba, the first volume in the True Mallets series, is a deeply detailed and expressive representation of one of the most versatile instruments in the percussion family: the marimba. Too often overlooked, even in ambitious orchestral libraries, sampled marimbas tend to settle for three velocity layers and limited range.
Concert Marimba breaks that mold with up to six velocity layers across a full five-octave range. You get a choice of soft, medium, and hard mallets, plus alternating left and right hand strokes for natural playability.
Beyond standard single hits—perfect for a wide range of musical styles—the library includes dynamic rolls and glissandi, less common articulations like dead notes, stick and shaft hits, and even experimental textures such as resonator glissandi and strikes, for those looking to explore the sonic fringe.
